As of November 13, Level Up made an official announcement at Ragnaboards which could mean the end for all Valkyrie botters. If you’re a Valkyrian or you’ve read my previous post about this issue, then you’d know that since November 7, bots experience very difficult times at Philippine Ragnarok Valkyrie server.

Because of an update patched by Level Up (LU), bots get disconnected at least 3x every thirty minutes according to members of Ragnaboards. LU thought of a devious scheme to trap the botters. Find out after the jump!
Here’s a direct quote of the announcement:
Citizens of Valkyrie,
Please be advised that Level-up! Games will start sanctioning users caught with thousands of instances of daily log-ins. Not only is this an indication that you’re using a third party program, this can also be considered a DOS attack against our servers which great inconvenience to the rest of the community. This is the main reason why there is difficulty in logging into Valkyrie for the past week.
Take note that there will be no appeals or contestations. There is no humanly possible reason to justify thousands of log-in attempts for one account in a single day. We will be doing this on a daily basis to preserve game integrity and to ensure smoother gaming experience.
Thank you.
pRO Team
This statement literally redefines the phrase “bot executioner” by tenfold. LU got tons of praises from players after this announcement was made. Interestingly, OpenKore guru kaliwanagan also gave LU praises in his blog hinting that he would totally retire from helping OpenKore if LU continues their winning streak against bots.
It looks like LU isn’t backing down from battle anytime soon. They have unleashed an anti-virus (the patch) followed by a massive army (150 Midgard Police applicants and counting) and now they are about to release a horde of tanks (the massive perma-ban) as a final blow. Then again maybe this is just the beginning of their real plan as they are still very secretive. And also, everyone’s waiting for that “judgment day”, November 15, the day that the OpenKore dev team set to release their updated bot. The updated bot is said to be able to penetrate the updated system of Valkyrie Server without any disconnections on the bots. Until that date comes, it’s another wait-and-see game for LU, the players and the OpenKore team.
Now that all the big events such as the RPCs, LU Lives and your Ragnarallies are all done with and over, maybe now LU can focus on the basic necessity: the players. Better late than never LU. Still late, but as long as it works, do it!

FINALLY some good news
Too bad it’ll only stop the botters and not cheaters in general.
Gotta hate those annoying KSers, scammers, hackers, dupers and other bug-abusers -_-

Well at least this is a good start. If only it didn’t take so long. Hahaha.

If the bot issues are resolve. But that doesn’t mean that the mission of us Anti-botters ends.
We all still continue the way of our living to punish KSers, harassers, scammers, lamers etc…
And pardon me sir, where you get all the sources anyway?
I can never assume these things “may” exactly happen. Unless you have the root sources.
Is this a leakage? O_o
Not being so rude, but taking these kind of “confidential” information isn’t that easy to have.

Let’s just say I’ve developed journalistic senses over the the past few weeks.

Oh right, assuming Waukeen and the RO technical team are up to date on the issue, it might be possible that during today’s maintenance they’d release the third party anti-bot program/system mentioned by kuya Wauks days ago. If they fix the existing servers so that manual players get in normally, and at the same time implement that other anti-bot program/system to block even those updated bots, we’re looking at a LARGE number of accounts getting banned within the week.
.
Let’s just hope that kuya Wauks wasn’t just bluffing on that 3rd party anti-bot program.

Nice senses you got there, although isn’t that a bit risky exposing these kinds of infos in the public?
Err… Typically in a guild siege, this seems to be exposing their tactic and equipment infos. >_

Actually, if you dig at Ragnaboards thoroughly, you can see these information scattered everywhere in it. Especially in the official announcements and the links associated with it. Of course I don’t want to be one sided so I read discussions at Darkmoon boards as well.

Thanks MD
And thank you too Nauko, for looking at the greater picture. As stated in the TOS, bots and other 3rd party software are not allowed and users of such will be sanctioned. But so should the kill stealers, dupersm bug exploiters, hackers, scammers, etc.
Did you know that the technology being used by OpenKore is very similar to those being used for double deal scams? Or exploiting the dupe bug? Good thing we have GameGuard too. The next time someone tries a double deal scam on you, make sure you make him follow you around first (i.e. make sure he’s using the official client and not a bot). Next, wait for at least 10 minutes chatting - 6 minutes is the minimum for the gameguard sync packets to kick in and disconnect, so if someone is using the double deal scam on you, most likely he’s using a hexed client or a bot-proxy. These steps should minimize if not totally eradicate your chances of being scammed.
MD, I’ve mentioned before in our private correspondence that I proved to LU! (through S) that OpenKore already has the PP technology for Thor. Maybe you’d want to sample the patch too? You know where to contact me.
BTW, I am already high up in the admin ladder of OpenKore that I can get away with these posts without too much loss in my authority. Like I said in one of my blog posts, I can ask for the deletion of the project from sourceforge whenever I want to (I have those powers) but that is shallow thinking. Being opensource, they would just fork the project, or even just continue on - WITHOUT ME. The most I can do to help without relinquishing my authority is to influence for delays - at least until LU! prepares itself. So they now have around 24 hours worth of preparation … not bad in my opinion.
Again, thanks for keeping as neutral as possible on the issue.

This will be the battle of the wisest. Tactic vs Tactic. Strategies and Counter strategies. But one thing is for sure, only the Light will prevail!

i think openkore’s on a winning spree while LU’s on a whinning spree lol

As of today, I have heard that bots still get disconnected every 30 mins. In the meantime, server population remains at a stable 4k+

There’s too much to do if you want your bot to stay connected as long as you want. They made a workaround, but not really a solution to let the bots in.
