Hi guys. It’s been more than a week since I blogged anything new. My apologies, but the past week has been really busy for me. Aside from my regular work, projects from all places keep arriving, and I’m only too glad to accept them all. For what use is a musician’s life if you don’t get yourself involved in every nook and cranny of your career. So what has kept me busy lately? Well here’s a break down of things to come.
Survivor Philippines Theme Music
I have been recently commissioned by GMA 7 (currently the #1 TV station in the country in terms of ratings) to arrange a new theme song for their upcoming show Survivor Philippines, a localization of the popular international reality show. I’ve submitted several studies and some revisions for the past week but the good news arrived today. The executive producer called me up to say that my theme song was approved by the top honchos of the show. So that means, when the show airs sometime in August, them opening music you will hear was made by your truly. Yeah! *dances with joy* I’m afraid I can’t reveal the music yet as it is top secret for now.

Makiling Album Re-launch
My band has finally gathered sufficient funding to reprint our two previously launched albums, Medyo Modern and Patintero sa Ilalim ng Buwan. The two albums feature original music by our band and has been launched and released independently. So yeah, we’re currently busy preparing for re-launch bar tours and concert events. Stay tuned! In the meantime, you can visit my band’s official site at www.makiling.ph.
Future Solo Projects
As of this post, I’ve received two new projects. Another new song arrangement as a collaboration with my bandmate Otto, and a second project in which I will be writing several new songs for a stage play. And I’m only talking about projects that don’t involve my band.
Lisa Macuja & Makiling
On August this year, Makiling will be doing a series of shows as part of Lisa Macuja and Ballet Manila’s production. Lisa Macuja is considered to be the Philippines’ premiere ballerina, much like Lea Salonga in the world of Broadway. I won’t reveal the details yet but the thing is, after this project, Makiling will finally start recording our long overdue 3rd album.
Blog, Gaming and Girls
With all these projects simultaneously happening, how am I supposed to maintain my blog? Well simply put, the blog won’t be neglected. I will make it a point to update the blog at least once a week. And don’t you think I’ve forgotten to update the Gamer Girls, fear not my loyal readers, the Gamer Girls will always be here and will be regularly updated.
And so that’s it for now! See you around guys and gals!
