This is NOT A SPECIALIZED GUIDE!
This Equipment Guide will only tackle the COMMON equipment worn by each job class for levelling, player versus player, War of Emperium and boss hunts. I will not include specialized gears. For example, instead of recommending greaves for a crusader, I will instead put boots because it is a more common equipment. Another example would be the Survivor’s Rod, which I will forego in favor of an Arc Wand instead. But then again, it’s all a case to case basis and it’s all up to you to customize your gears to your liking. Consider my guide as a basic template for your character. The full guide after the jump!

a. Important Notes

Regarding first job classes
I will only indicate one equipment set for all first jobs as they only begin to be competent when they change jobs.

Upgrades
I will not include weapon and armor upgrades in my guide. It’s up to you how you will acquire the highest upgraded armors and weapons. I will only specify the types of weapons or armors that suit each job class.

Weapon and Armor Cards
I will not always include specific weapon and armor cards especially for the levelling equipment set. Weapon and armor cards will always vary depending on which monsters you are killing. Boss cards will not be included in this guide.

Headgears
Rare headgears such as Majestic Goats and Ghost Bandanas will not be included in this guide. I will instead put the best possible common slotted headgear with the best defense for each character.

I. Swordsman Class

Swordsman
This is the straightforward melee fighter. Swordsmen need STR and VIT at their early levels.

Knight/Lord Knight

They are the frontliners of any battle. They deal the first damage and recieve the initial blows of the enemy. The main stats of Knights/Lord Knights are usually STR and VIT. Some also go for high AGI. A little DEX is also needed for spiral pierce builds.

Crusader/Paladin

Crusaders/Paladins are literally the LIFE of the party. They support the party by shielding all the damage and for that they need high HP. There are also spear builds which rely on STR and AGI. And another common build which is the grand cross build needs high INT and VIT.

Assasin/Assasin Cross

Assasins/Assasin Crosses are one of the most versatile characters. They have a lot of possible builds. The most common types are Crit, Double Dagger, Sonic Blower and Soul Destroyer builds. Again, I will only include the most common equipment.

Rouge/Stalker

Rogues/Stalkers usually tread in two builds; either STR or DEX. STR builds use daggers for levelling while DEX builds use bows. I will put both types of common weapons for each build. There’s also an INT build for plagiarize stalkers but it’s not that common so I will not include it in the Levelling and PVP/WOE builds, but is the most effective for Boss Hunts.

Alchemist/Biochemist


If the smiths have the forger build, Alchemists/Biochemists have a brewer build. But the principles are the same for brewer equipment: pure DEX gears. As alchemists, most will go for STR and AGI to level faster and once transcended, they will go INT and DEX and level up as acid bombers.

Sage/Scholar

There are two types of sage/scholars: the bolter build and the full support build. Full support builds rely on party levelling to gain experience while the bolter build can level solo. A bolter’s equipment are very much similar to the wizard’s/high wizard’s.

Monk/Champion
