It’s been almost a month since internet at home went kaput. We are currently subscribing to a new ISP and no it’s NOT PLDT anymore. Anyway, I am totally enjoying this new found profession of mine.
For those totally not in the loop of my recent life, I have been hired by MRM Studios, a company here in the Philippines that produces ringtones and karaoke songs for sale to international clients. I am one of the employed midi arrangers. Of course I’m not allowed to discuss any specific details but midi arranging is something new for me.
I have been working extensively in the past with real audio and wave formats but I’ve never really took notice of MIDI arranging and formatting. It’s a totally different discipline but requires musicality nonetheless.
Musicians getting employed regularly as musicians is a rare opportunity here in the Philippines. That is why I feel very lucky and blessed to have landed this job. I get to have another practical use for my formal musical education, aside from my band and violin teaching. And there’s free internet!
I wish our residential internet gets fixed ASAP! I want to update this blog more often.
