I bring you cosplayer babe, Fatima Camiloza! More after the jump!
Hi! Tell me something about yourself.
Fatima Camiloza, 22, B.S. Pharmacy Graduate from University of Santo Tomas. Currently studying Digital Arts.
How long have you been cosplaying?
I just started November of this year, as Goten at the recent UP AME Gakuensai.
What made you interested in becoming a cosplayer?
It was very sudden, I can’t quite pin it down. I just sort of felt like doing it.
How do you conceptualize a costume before you have one made?
I usually do a few rough sketches before making a refined one. I have actually sewn my own costumes by hand.
What are the favorite costumes that you’ve worn?
Since there have only been 3 so far, Sailor Mars would have to be it in terms of aesthetic appeal.
What was the most memorable cosplay moment you’ve had?
Singing the Dragon Ball Z Opening Theme as Goten at UP AME Gakuensai.

How much did you spend for your most recent costume?
Somewhere between 2,200 Php to 2,500 Php.
What was the most expensive costume you ever made?
The one I just mentioned.
What costume you had was the hardest to make? How come?
Goten, but only because I had to make it myself.
What are the awards / recognitions you’ve won as a cosplayer?
None so far. I attend just to walk around, rarely to join any contests.
Has anyone ever made fun of you when you cosplay? How do you handle that?
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a few bad stares, I just walk on. I really could care less. I look like a cool anime character and they look like themselves, sucks to be them.
What can you say about the local cosplay community?
I love the enthusiasm, seeing people with such passion for it makes me want to work even harder.
Aside from cosplaying, what are your other interests in life?
Traditional and digital art, Konami video games, extensive reading, puzzles and public speaking.

What keeps you busy nowadays?
Art classes and awaiting events.
What games do you play? (Please enumerate)
1. Castlevania
2. Dance Dance Revolution
3. Guitar Hero
4. Pokemon
What are your future cosplay plans?
Can’t tell! That’d spoil the surprise!

What’s your message to the cosplayers out there?
Don’t lose your soul to cosplaying. When in costume, it’s perfectly normal to assume a different personality. But in real life, you must be aware of your responsibilities to society. For example, goth is a lovely form of fashion but there really is trouble in the world worth crying about so let’s not get too consumed in our own world.
Thank you very much Fatima! So there you go boys and girls, expect more cosplay babes to arrive for 2008! In the meantime check out Fatima’s artworks and also drop by www.cosplay.ph for more stuff about Pinoy Cosplay! The Master’s Den bids you a great year to come!
